Yep I have a Springfield SM exhaust. It is the worst freaking thing on my car. My co-driver bought it for the car so since I had no out of pocket I said lets get it on there. The absolutely most annoying thing. Drove it for a day and told him lets put the stock exhaust back on. He had already thrown it away. Took the thing to a dyno. It made a whole 2hp more at peak and that was also eliminating the cat compared to stock 160k mile Mazda exhaust. I just shook my head. We put a supertrap end (not the muffler) on it with 12 discs and its somewhat manageable to drive. Of course we lost the 2hp at peak with the supertrap. The only thing that was good about the whole experience is the 19lb lighter the car got but even that was bittersweet as it all came off of the lower rear of the car. Im still shaking my head.

And now I go and spend close to $500 shipped to get a RB header on the car since the VVT header didnt go with my 95 downpipe and my 95 header had broken a stud in the downpipe flange. I didnt want to go through the trouble of drilling the stud out or having a new flange put on the 95 downpipe so I figured why not take 3-5hp/tq across the band and get a shiny pretty header. The damn thing shows up and its freaking made in China. I feel like I should be joining a support group or something.

It'll sound like ****, don't worry. If you have a silencer it sounds a bit better, but it's still just boomy and ricecan all day.

no it wont; I dont steer people wrong.

It'll still work "okay" when you fit a turbo, since it's straight through and 2.25". Sure it's a cheap solution, but it's a MUCH better solution than a spec miata exhaust.

I suggested the system with THREE mufflers for a reason.
