Default New Fabricated Exhaust (RSR Inspired/Turndown/56K WATCHOUT)

After two exhaust systems on the car over the few years I've had it the first one sounded great (magnaflow muffler) but looked horrible and the secound looked great but didn't sound as good. So in the search for the perfect exhaust I went back to the drawing board. Huge thanks to my friend Danny who did all the welding and made this possible!

2.5" Turbo Tony Downpipe (freshly installed w/new finish & band)
2.5" Custom Exhaust
- Magnaflow 2.5" Stainless Steel Straight In-Out Muffler
- 2.5" Aluminized Piping
- 2.5" Aluminized J-Bend (for homebrew mandrel bends)
- 3.5" Stainless Steel Mandrel 45 degree (was cut short to make tip)
- 2.5" Dual Eared Flange w/Gasket
- 3 Universal Heavy Duty Hangers
AEM UEGO

Notes
100% in will require a $125 deposit when 4 ppl are in at which point will max out at 6 ppl per building period. Exhausts will take 1-2 weeks to produce (some quicker than others being shipped but this is just an overall waiting period).

I'm doing good, long line of things to do to the car this spring. Should start next week hopefully. Not working right now, getting ready to head to Alaska for the summer like I usually do. Graduated in December so now I'm trying to decide on grad school.

Are you going to be mass-producing it? If you are, I want one.

I would also be willing to pay for a duplicate, maybe in 3'' though. Thats one of the best looking exhausts Ive seen period, let alone on a Miata. Any sound clips?

Wanna build me one? I'll give you $500 for a cat back in 3'' stainless

I think this may be how I end up fabbing my exhaust. Sound clips please!

Also, i love your wheels even though you cant exactly see them in these pictures. Saw them in a honda-tech thread.

For those that are interested; Just talked to Danny and he's interested in making more. Prices would run the following with 4-6 ppl in on them.

Base Version (catback)
2.25" NA $375.00
2.50" NA/Turbo $375.00
3.00" Turbo $400.00

Extended Version (cat deleted; I will extend to the header extension/downpipe)
2.25" NA $385.00
2.50" NA/Turbo $385.00
3.00" Turbo $410.00

Addons
2.25" Flex Coupler $45.00
2.50" Flex Coupler $50.00
3.00" Flex Coupler $55.00

Shipping will be $50.00 in the 48 cont. states.

The exhaust will be hand built and test fitted for quality. Will come with all hangers (use stock locations and chassis mounting areas), flanges, gaskets, and hardware. Due to shipping purposed the exhaust will have to be 2pcs instead of one so another flange or slip fit connection will be added. Flameproof Paint will be included to spray on arrival (keep from getting chipped up in shipping).

For those who are interested PM me and I'll start a list. Don't think it will take long to get 4-6 ppl.

Hmmm.... I'm shopping for 3" systems right now. Would this pricing include NBs (1999) as well? How much to add a spun metallic Magnaflow cat to the midpipe, and an extra bung (rear O2 sensor)?

Id still like to hear it before saying yes on purchasing one. $400 seems like a good deal though.

Audio clip needed...

Looks AMAZING, and I will probably be copying it this summer as I absolutely love the way the RSR looks.

Yet again man, major thumbs up on your car.

Dan; give me a couple of months to recoup from this rebuild and I'll be buying the 3" one from you. I'll contact you.

FWIW, I don't need a CAT.

Dan, I really like your design! I've been contemplating replacing my FM single tip with a lightweight, straight-through design like yours. My only concern is loudness on an n/a setup. I'm staying n/a until I can justify spending the $$$ on FI, and I love the simplicity of this setup.

Alot of us have shown interest in hearing a sound clip. If you can provide one, that would be great. I realize that it would be on a turbo car, too.
