Default I need Help! My car will start, then shut off

So I have a 90 miata which ran fantastically. I installed my turbo throughout the past week. I have t3 turbo with manifold, 2.5 in downpipe, intercooler, fuel regulator. everything else is stock. Ive doulbe, triple, and quadrouple checked each fitting and hose and everything seems to be in place. When I turn it over, the motor will start rev up to the usuall 1,800 rpm or so then Die. It feels as if the motor is being flooded, but ive even pulled the regulator off and tried starting with stock fuel pressure, same thing. When I pulled the plugs the where soaked in gas.
Whats the deal?
Thanks,
Chris

How long does the engine run before it stalls?

Maby try jumpering the fuel pump on at the diagnosis connector to rule out the fuel pump shutting off.

Still using the stock AFM? Any vacume/boost leaks after the afm?

Is it possible that the AFM got unhooked?

I have it rather secure, I will check it and try it agian. Would not having the AFM ( Air flow Meter - want to make sure im looking at the right piece) hooked up properly not allow my motor to idle?
Thanks for all the help

does the MAF hook up between the turbo and the intake, or on the outside of the turbo (toward air cleaner).
Thanks

The AFM (part that sits on top of the stock air box and filter) needs to be hooked up for the engine to run, and it needs to be before the turbo. All the air going to the engine has to go through it (and all the air that goes through it has to go to the engine).

ok so I should have an air fiilter hooked directly to the turbo, the turbo creating boost which THEN passes through the AFM and into the intake. Right now I have the AFM on the outside of the turbo, just before the air cleaner.

No, you want the AFM before the turbo attached to your air filter not inline with your IC. Have you never seen a picture of a turbo NA engine bay? I'll find one for you.

You have it right. The afm sould be on the out side of the turbo. It sould not have boosted air going through it.

If you removed the screws on the connector to the AFM, you may have broken one of the very delicate connections inside.
To bypass this switch, jump FP to GND in the diagnostic connector and see if it keeps running. This will tell you if the AFM is screwed.
There is a switch in the AFM that cuts the fuel pump.

acutally, if you have the F/P jumped, you can idle the car without the AFM, you just can't hit the gas. My bet is bad AFM or leak between the AFM and turbo.

wow, who's car is that one?! badass.

Actually, isn't that a celebrity car. Isn't it the one owned by Jared from the Subway commercials? :gay: :gay: :gay:
