Admins can we do this, as a collective?

I think that it would behoove miataturbo.net to give him his own personal subforum where only he can start threads. His posts are super informative and would pull in a lot of traffic from google searches.

I vote nay, until he can figure out how to take pictures that are in focus. Well, his latest creation is actually pretty decent.

Rather set up a fund for a decent camera and a photography 101 class.

Actually, looking at some of his pictures, it looks like his lens might be a little dirty, but mostly I wonder if the light is just poor and so the camera uses a slow shutter speed, causing blur. I'm not sure what the easiest way to fix that is, since flash is a horrible option for the kinds of pictures he takes, but there must be something to do.

He knows of this button, and has said he uses it sometimes, but the pictures are still blurry. Some just look out of focus, but others look like motion blur.

he needs to find the 'hold shutter half way' button and the 'turn off the flash and use shop lights' button.

99.999% this. Flash could help some, so long as it is powerful enough to prevent the ambient light from still causing blur.

Manual mode, flash, and 1/60 or better shutter will work if he has enough flash output.

He could also try using auto mode and a shop light directly on the subject to get the shutter speed up.

I try taking the same pic 3 or 4 diffrent ways, Macro w/o flash, macro w/flash, Auto focus, zoom.

Sometimes the blurr is my fault for moving, mainly when I am trying to hold a part and take the pic at the same time.

I do try to clean the lense often.
