Amazon Amazon
Tripod, $28

Bogus, have you looked into a vendor account? I have a sneaking suspicion you would have half a dozen BPs show up in the mail in the first 2 months alone. I don't know how busy you are, but business is business.

I've got at least one oldschool machine shop guy here in town that I trust to build stuff, but he is unGODLY expensive and takes FOR EVAR to get anything done. It took him 4 months to do seats, guides, valves and deck on the FE heads I sent him for my truck because his "buddies" kept coming in and asking for favors. Everyone else around here is a bunch of monkeys with belt sanders.

FE heads? How many pairs do you want? LOL I started out machine work on old school ford, could be why I am such a stickler for valve tip heights.

To get FE built right it is expensive, normally all new valves and guides, 8 hard exh seats, surface the HG and exh sides of the head, plus broken bolts... about $700-800

A pair of 427 Shelby Cobra heads I did.

As far as being a vendor.. I will think on that.

Let me get a few more things done on Aarones build and see how that goes.

Hahaha! Yeah, add another 15-20% and that's what I ended up paying for mine... but still, 4 months for a basic rebuild on a set of D2TEs? (Or D3, can't remember) Its not like I was having him drop CJ valves in it or anything. That truck is such a nightmare project... I do <3 the Duraspark distributor though, points systems can go to hell. Do you have any idea how hard it was to find someone who 1) owns a SUN distributor machine and 2) knows how to use it? FML.

But yeah, look into becoming a sponsor.

Ahhhh I used one of those machines years back, in Vo-Tech school

Personally, get rid of the dura spark box and hook up a basic MSD 6A and call it good

Oh, I did! Ford only put Duraspark dizzies in the FE for the 75 and 76 model years before they discontinued the FE in 76. The 75 hardware & electronics are specific to 75 production, the 76 electronics (other than the distributor body, obviously) is interchangeable with anything from a 302 to a 460. My truck is a 73 so I never had the Duraspark electronics to start with. I managed to get my mits on a 76 Duraspark distributor, have it properly rebuilt and recurved, and then used the stock Duraspark triggers with a MSD 6A I had buried in the garage. Crank to prime, pump it twice, she starts with no more than 3 rotations of the crank. I love Autolite carbs too

Now, if I could only manage to get more than 8mpg out of it...

Why don't you send me one of those AND a complete set of Jesel shaft rockers for err... testing. For you, no cost. I will sacrafice my time and do you this favor for free. That would make a great replacement for the PLASTIC Ford cam gear in my FE Not only will it QUADRUPLE the value of my truck, I'll probably pick up 2-3mpg to boot!

DO IT! FOR SCIENCE!

But in all seriousness, that's straight up sex right there

I heart the old FE's they are so easy to work on and pretty much bulletproof, my dads

Cant find the older pics of it, but it used to a be a 3x2 Barrel setup with some original Shelby america valve covers and air cleaner plates. still have the shelby america stuff, he just wanted some shinny under there i guess

Damn thats sexy!!

One thing tho... get a taller air cleaner filter, that short one is causing issues with air into the carb, by making it turn tight.

unfortunately thats as tall as it can go, we had to smash the lower plate to get it to fit under the hood. we need to get the lower oval plate for a 4bl car so we can use the Shelby America oval air cleaner. that motor is in this btw

there is actually one like that out there somewhere. IIRC it was a 460 bored .60 over with a Whipple supercharger running like 8psi. it was ------- stupid fast, after it got traction.
