Default suggestion

I've got a suggestion. Instead of requiring a minimum of 20 posts before members can post in the "for sale" section, how about requiring 6 months of membership? I only have a handful of posts but have been around for a while.
Yes, I finally hit 20 posts!!

yeah, no.

Being a member doesn't contribute anything. If you don't contribute to the community why should I allow you to use its resources for your own benefit?

I agree that you should need to be a contributing member, but you also need to spend some time learning before you can contribute. That said, I wish our experts would stop answering the simple questions and just leave them to us wannabees.

Also, more stuff for sale, the better, it keeps us going and it can attract new enthusiasts. But I sure wish that people were required to put the cars location in their titles. They require it on rx7club and it sure is handy. I got really excited about one of the cars before and then found out it was in CA. Thats like another country.

I can totally get behind the idea of being a contributing member before you get certain perks. Limiting features until you can PM or read classifieds (or whatever) by post count does not work.

How many times have we seen posts like this:

Sorry I am bumping this thread so I can pm.
Then they proceed to bump the thread 10 times adding nothing of value just to get to the magic post count. It's actually worse than adding nothing, it takes away from the value.

Want a solution? If someone does the bump thing to get the post count high enough, double the necessary posts for them to PM. Or out right ban them all together.

Sorry for the rant, but it's a huge pain in the ***. And really, how hard is it to post 10 times that add value, or at least entertainment.

How in the hell do you have 680 posts and I've never seen you before?
