I came to a realization today. None of these consoles really do anything particularly better than the previous gen besides the wii U. So after all the launch day sales for the "people who must have the best tech for the sake of having the best tech" (you know the person who get a new iphone every year, not just when its time to renew) the sales are going to be driven by the content only available on the new gen consoles and not the old ones. so the xbone wont sell for **** until the halo 5000 and forza under sea edition come out and all the fan boys shell out for one just to play those games. Or when the PS4 gets the last of us sequal because honestly from a pure gaming standpoint the difference between playing a game on an xbone or a 360 is going to be that one is shinier and may require stupid motion commands while the other wont. The Wii U seems to have some actual good new content coming out right away, like the new smash bro's with the villager/rapist and mario kart that looks to be better. Also being able to take the game with you on the gameboy controller while you take a mid game poop is going to be awesome.

M$ decided to flip on almost everything... after their CEOs spent weeks trying to convince everyone their system was built from the ground up to support these "features".

Leafy - I don't understand your point. Isn't that like saying no one would buy the 360 when the original Xbox was basically the same thing, just with worse graphics?

Oscar - Assuming the game does not use the Kinect, can't it just point at the back wall or have a decorative throw placed over it (or a leather and metal studs cover, if that's your thing)?

If this was the easy solution, there's still no point of the thing needing to be connected all the time. Knowing ms, it would need to see a face to allow gaming in the first place and thus pointing it at the wall or covering it would just render it unusable. Plus I don't think I need an internet connected device looking at and listening to me 24/7.

The 360 controller was a lot nicer than the xbox, and the 360 was backed with fairly quality content in forza 3 and stuff. And the choice between 360 and ps3 came down to wanting to play forza 3 or gt4.

Nope. Everything but that changed, pretty much. The issue is architecture. The 360 uses a IBM Cell processor, IIRC. It is a RISC based chip. Whereas the XBOne uses a good old x86 processor. They could provide backwards compatibility through emulation, but that would be time consuming as they would have to write the emulator. I'm sure they would like to, but the bean counters would never allow it.

I've been watching Buckley since the beginning. Normally i don't share his videos because i feel it's more gratifying when someone finds them by themselves.

But i just have to share this one.

that's a Playstation feature which has been in place for a while now so mark that off of as being something 'new'
WiiU has little to no new games coming short-term, Im getting my WiiU when the new Zelda or X releases (which ever comes first).

What PS4 does better than the previous gen;
*PSVita streaming
*Video game DVR and upload
*Play as you download
*Choice on whether you want to download the single player or multiplayer first
*All games available as digital

PS4 has a good amount of games stated for release and more are going to be announced in August.

So, I can record myself playing a video game and show it to other people? This hasn't been particularly useful or interesting for the past several years that it's been possible on the PC- I'm trying to imagine how it will be more useful or valuable in this context.

Exactly how slow is your internet connection?

See above.

As opposed to analog?

Nice try lol

Vita doesn't have a distance limitation, it's network enabled

It works for the PC why wouldn't it be a useful feature for Video Games? My first use would be racing games.

It's not about slow internet it's about being able to play instantly. (My internet is slow though ;P)

Moving to bluray storage with bigger assets in games, I'd rather not have to wait on a 30-50GB Download.

The term for downloaded games is digital.

I would have still bought the Xbox 1 before they changed up the abilities of the system only because I would assume there would be steam like sales when they got further along with it. The used game situation did make me somewhat angry because you did buy it so why cant you do what you want with it. I guess game stop isn't preparing for bankruptcy now.

lol ^ faggette

"steam sales" you mean like PS+? Where I get tons and tons of awesome games for cheap or free?

That **** with the xbone was ridiculous. There are so many people who don't have the connection that would be required for that POS. My brother told me that all his military buddies were going ps4 since microsoft said "**** you" to the thousands of people who deploy.

I'm just glad the public beat them into submission.
