Incidentally, where did our server wind up getting hosted at, anyway? Given the fact that a lot of our folks seem to be clustered around Brainey over on the Socialist Coast, I'm hoping our ping times aren't too bad out here in the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

At least somebody got it.
One of the Random Strangers™ I was playing with last night hummed the opening tune to Monty Python, and seemed genuinely surprised when I then said "And now for something completely different." Apparently the internet has grown to the point where it can no longer safely be assumed that every individual who uses it is intimately familiar with 1970s-era British comedy.
A sad day, indeed.
So, yeah. Wave after wave of killer robots. Kind of an interesting turn. Can somebody explain to me what is the benefit to me of paying for a Golden Ticket? Is it just to get item drops and the Canteen? From what I can tell, the ticket is a one-time-use item, meaning you have to buy a new one for every single game. Surely I must be mis-interpreting this?

Ticket only gets used if you succeed in the entire round of waves for that map. Then you get an item drop.... which can be useless.
I think our main goal is to win a full round of waves with everyone having both tickets, so we each get the extra squad ticket drops and then get decent items. Which can make the MvM game more interesting, weapons specific to MvM.
Beyond that.... hats?

You can get a Canteen by winning any MVM mode and is required to not be gimped in Mann up.
Mann up is 5 to 10 times harder (there for less boring and more fun) then Boot camp / playing a privet server.
The trick is to get 6 people all with squad tickets that don't suck so you can have fun and end up with 7 items for the price of 3.5.

... he says to the guy that's been on the road for the past month and a half.
I need to put my car back together enough that it's legal to drive before this weekend, but I'll definitely be on after that. It's hard with all you east coast communist-type folks, as I'm typically either still at work or just getting home when you're firing up the game.
