Did Sav ever do a thread regarding that sweet fastback top he has in his sig? I did not find it. I have been thinking about something like that since I got interested in Miatas. These cars have perfect lines for a fast back, and if you sinply remove the trunk lid you get a ton of space to boot. No need to go with exactly OEM dimensions. It would probably be stupid expensive though.

If you have a single hoop roll bar, start layering duct tape from the windshield pillar to the back. Instant hard top, for under $50. 10 layers should be enough to make it rigid enough to not flap around.

This. I was just talking to a buddies dad who has a 93 911 putting down 600-some odd horsepower. He said it cost him 5k for his suspension and 25k to get his pistons put in... Had a shop do it, but still that's a ******* lot of money. It would probably cost 10k for a Miata.

Thanks, I will take a look.

I have been lokking into fiberglassing and carbon fiber fab. Its not complex, just a skill you have to build up. I am really pondering just doing my own hardtop when the time comes from fiberglass. Take the money saved and put it toward a cage or nice roll bar.
