I have never seen it, nor heard anyone speak of it. Why would you want to put a focus motor in a miata. Focus motors are front wheel drive which would make a had swap to rear wheel drive. Plus they suck. With all that money your gonna spend, you'd be better off boosting the motor. You'd make way more power. And if your really stuck on a motor swap, go with like a 302, or even an SR or something.

For the amount of time and money you'd put into engineering the Focus motor into the Miata, you could probably have FM or someone build you a 2.0L stroker Miata BP engine that would be guaranteed to fit.

For even less money and work than the Focus motor swap, you could get a 2.2L Mazda FE motor in your car like M2CupCar's.

Do you already have the motor, is that why you are asking? Look into whether or not the Sierra tranny will work, the Focus 2.0 is a derivative of the motor used in the turbo Euro Fords in the 80's so there is a chance that it will work but I'm thinking not.

I know that the modern Focus 2.0s are used in a lot of the Lotus style kit cars, from what I've heard 170-ish to the wheels all motor isn't that far off...

you're going to waste cash on the swap, and probably make less power on itb;s.

First thing to do is take measurements so you know exactly what it's going to take to get it to fit. Then figure out how you're going to make it drive the rear wheels.

You can search the Engine Conversions forum over at Miata.net to read about the two or three folks that've don the F20C swaps.
