Just out of pure curiosity, have any of you tried any engine additives in any of your vehicles, such as zmax, or engine restorer or what ever its called, ect. I saw a commercial for the 10,000th time and was curious about the results...I was thinking gimicky.

I've been a Slick50 and Seafoam fan for awhile now. Every 10k miles or 3 oil changes I put about 1/2quart of one in my oil and gas respectively. Maybe this weekend I'll Seafoam my intake and Spyhunter the neighborhood again.

I like seafoam, but I'm not a big fan of adding gunk like lucas to oil. If you want thicker oil run thicker oil, don't dump gunk in your engine. Thats the way I see it, but lotsa people do swear by the gunks

I let my engine drink a full glass of liquid LSD and eggs. Then it slept for 8 months straight. When it finally woke, it sputtered to live and said, 'All in all, I prefer gin.'"

Eww. I really try to stay away from stuff like that. Do this instead. Every few months, put 1/4 gallon of mineral spirits and a few ounces of ATF in a full tank of gas. No smoke, no drama, no damage, low cost, and it will keep your fuel system clean. Could even clear carbon out of the chamber, especially if you do it a few times. I have half a mind to pull a plug and scope the chamber just to see how clean and shiny (I think) it is.
