Springs never really go bad, they just tend to sag over time...if your on a tight budget, rock stock springs or post a WTB for FM springs on miata.net and you'll prolly get a set for about a hundred bucks...but then your going to need NB mounts...so you could just run stock springs until you get the money for springs/coilover sleeves and top mounts.
