Default Anybody run drag radials? on what wheels/size?

So, I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about when I get done with the build sometime in my next life maybe picking up up a set of drag radials for fun...

but the only other set of wheels I have are my stock 14s...and I'd have to run a 205/something from BFgoodrich drag radial...

what are you guys running?

do you get traction w/ 205s? I was thinking about trying to squeeze them on the stock 14s...good idea/bad idea?

I would be afraid of tearing up the drivetrain more than anything. I know sort of off topic, but that seems to be the weak link in it all, anywho you could probably get just fine traction with 205 drag radials.

not as much as slicks, but they aren't exactly stiff

Sidewalls are not stiff by any means, but that's what also helps them hook up in straight line launch. That said, I haven't done any hard launches. It wasn't my intention to actually get drag radials, but I worked out a deal in trade since I needed tires and this is what I got. They're actually nice riding DD tires- probably because the sidewalls aren't stiff. I wouldn't recommend them for somebody doing canyon carving- definitely not a road course tire.

true, I'll leave azenis on my 16s or pick up a set of 13x8 for a friend w/ r-comps...I just want some go fast tires.
