+1 Same thing here in Wisconsin.

Tumbleweed, there is usually another statute that refers to modifying a license plate. No clue what it is in your state, but for my state there is one law specifically for the mounting of plates, and a completely different law elsewhere regarding what you can/cannot do to the plate. Just something you might want to check out.

I wish we had stickers available for front plates in the states like in some other countries. That would be badass.

I use a stock Miata license plate bracket, installed upside-down, with the bottom of the plate bent inward so it doesn't block airflow. All that's on the bottom is the state motto; nothing that I'll get pulled over for.
