Dramatic recreation:
I showed up on time and played with the dogs for an hour. Then Ben showed up. I painted my new caliper brackets (in anticipation for a brake conversion). He changed his swaybar and I changed his fuel filter. His lines were frozen. I got gas in my eye. Then we changed his diff fluid. I got brake cleaner in my eye.
Break for lunch.
Then we put the MS in Dan's car. Hook up AIT, WB, etc, then make his laptop work, then flashing the firmware and loading a base map. Then fixing lots of wrong settings. Then figuring out why his tach showed 1/2 the rpm the MS did. Then figuring out why wiggling a wire in his patch harness made **** under the hood click.
Matt Cramer comes by and changes his steering wheel
Dan puts his car back to stock. But his car won't run because there's no spark on 2 cylinders. So we **** around for a while to absolutely condemn the coil pack. We call all the local vendors, and none have a replacement. We get dinner, Dan's g/f drives from Charlotte to pick him up.
I didn't change my brakes.
The end.

I'm having Dan mail me back the harness to take a look at. If it's getting half the tach on the dash, I suspect it may be the shield on the tach signal. There's a chance it's not good enough or a random straggler is hitting the signal. I'm going to go over this thing with a fine tooth comb and may build a new one completely if it comes down to it.

wow--how great for Dan (and Dan's g/f) that would have been. I don't have your # Rob. We looked up Kurt's # but he didn't answer.
I wanted to spectate Sunday, but Deborah didn't want to go, and I didn't want to leave her home alone with her broken foot.

And kurt was in our paddock... I do know that it's damn hard to hear the phone ring half the time. We had a relatively good weekend. I qualified the car on pole (1:44.2) for class (ITA) on Sunday for the three hour and we finished second. I think we had a win, but the owner got nailed by a backmarker going into turn 1. Sent him off track and ripped off our "magical" front splitter. That splitter btw, was worth about 1.5 second off our previous lap times.
