Autokonexion Vented hood - NO GILLS

So is the consensus that no gills is the way to go? I am interested in maximum extraction for the track. Would the effects of reversion through the gills be that significant? I do spend alot of time in city traffic, and I'd hate to have the kind of heat damage Autokonexion was trying to mitigate with the gills.
Would adhesive reflective heat shielding applied to the underside of the hood be enough to protect a hood without gills?

i thought the words PROBABLY and WOW would have given away the sarcasm chief, but i guess not...

Just to relay information because I've been keeping up with the hood project. He actually took a carbon fiber extraction hood that was messed up when the car was wrecked, cut the extraction part out, molded it to the stock hood, and then molded the gills in. Then he had the hoods molded from that. But alot of people have been asking for the hood without the gills.
The price is actually $320 for fiberglass and $420 for CF, plus shipping, which is where the price can go up.
The fit is actually really good according to a couple of people that bought one and relayed feedback. The main extraction vent is far enough back to fit thick radiators, but far enough forward to cover the front of the engine, unlike 1.8s using an Erebuni hood.

Mount the hood and tie several pieces of yarn or kite string on the gill slits and cruise around at different speeds. Note when the gills start make the shift from air flow out (extraction) to air flow in (reversion).
Don't just do it for me, do it the good of the whole miata world!

yeah agreed, looking closer at the pics, looks like he used the erebuni vent and moved it a little further forward to clear the motor on the 1.8's which is something erebuni didnt do
when i was ordering my hood (like 4 years ago) they said it was for all NA's, once i got it and installed it and it didnt fit i called them to see what was going on since the hood didnt close, they asked me if i had the 1.8 and once i told them yes they were like, 'og, you gotta trim the hood a little' a little my ***, lol
so they were aware of the problem at least 4 years ago and did nothing to fix it so autokonexion does get the thumbs up from me

I just went to his website. There is a gallery with pics of his cars but no picks or links in the product section. the rest of the site seems like effort was put into it, so what gives?
