Bought 15x8 6ULs Need Tires, Want Opinions
#22
I called 949 and they don't know if they'll have the 15x10 6UL's ;( because the only tire for that rim is a hoosier and costs limke 300 something (close to 400). but if they do I'll get them for the track <- street. lol
btw. I think discount tire will get you the hankooks for 87 mounted or even less. if you print out the edgeracing page and go to them with it...

I don't plan on these being tracks wheels. I can't afford let alone store two sets of wheels when considering the money spent on the wheels themselves. Plus I don't make enough track days, considering i've never done one. I drive my car when I feel like, I want to autocross it, and someday soon I want to track it with NASA. The RA-1s would be destroyed by the time I made it to the track.
Maybe one day after college I'll be able to do that.

Ended up with 205/50 azeni 615s. I'll post pics when i get them on. Though you'll have to forgive the stock rideheight. Only downside from getting rid of the 17s will be the enormous fender gap. Some ebay coils with sleeves might have to get me by for a while until i can afford something else.

Emilio said he would hold the wheels no problem. He talked to Hankook yesterday, there is NO ETA on when the RS2 225s would be produced let alone shipped out. If he had a ETA around a month I would have waited. He said he could get the 615s in this week though so i can have the wheels back in TN around when I get back versus possibly waiting months for them.
I need to work for Hankook, someone needs to straigten them out.

The price was the only thing that kept me from going for the RA1s. If I burn the Azenis off this year i'll replace them with RA-1s next year. Hopefully they work out alright for me though because I'd rather run them for two years and save up for some Tein Flexes.

Went with the 205/50r15s RT-615s, they're nice and they'll just have to do for now considering there was still no ETA on RS2s when my wheels shipped. Got the wheels, tire, & center caps from Emilio at 949racing. Used McGard 2 piece spline drive lug nuts from Goodwin Racing. Upgrading from 22lb 17x7 Konig Imagines to the 13lb sexual goodness. Once i burn the 615s down i'll go for some 225/45 RS2s or NTO1s we'll see.

A Little mt.net love. The *** end is jacked up, it doesn't sit that high.
Close Up showing them with grey valves and McGard lug nuts.

You give me **** about it being a 4x4 savington and i'll feed you your own nuts for breakfast. When i jack it up it takes it a little while to settle back down, so it actually sits a little lower than that.
Seriously though, i'll get around to getting suspension, just have to find the coin. Other things comes first, like a radiator. It's also normally not dirty like that, took it for a drive yesterday and drove through a few small puddles.

Lookin good. I tried the NT-01s in July (Emilio let me borrow them for a session ) and compared to the R-S2s they were just unreal. The turn-in was so precise and the level of grip available was just stupid. My dad drove them first, pulled into the pits, and said "Jesus christ."

After driving the car about 150 miles today I love the new wheels and tires. The ride quality is great and i like the tires quite a bit. I could be wrong, pretty sure they come with some kind of mold compound on them because the first couple corners i powered out of it slid quite a bit compared the the KDW2s. The lower unsprung mass is very noticeable and I'm very happy with the upgrade.
They're not stretched too aweful much, not like i'm gonna transfer to roadster drift anytime soon. They're only .5" more narrow than the 225 RS2s supposedly and they had just a little more tread then the 215s that were on the konig wheels.
The perspective of this picture is screwed. The tread width is really just about equal, specially when you include the round shoulder of the azenis. The KDWs are 215s.
