I have fake brides with mounts that I bought for $300 locally, new. After 2 years the fabric turned to ****. I also have a pair of expired G-Force 5 point harnesses that I bought for $100 locally.

So thats $400 for a, imho, better setup than the guy is peddling you for $800. No deal.

Not really... the point is that 4-point harnesses suck. Period.

I guess I need to work on my sarcasm more.

From what I've seen, you don't seem to give a **** when someone gives you feedback beyond what you have already decided. And now you want to argue the finer points of 4, 5 or 6 point harnesses.

Just buy the **** and move on.

Where is the quality control bit when you need it?

Uh you just proved his point, race cars don't have 4 point harnesses, they have something with a sub belt.

4 point harness = ricer trash.

Welcome to the forum, we can be a bit harsh.

That being said, you kinda set yourself up by asking a generic question with no link to an ad or pictures or anything, and then stated that you felt they were likely real because he purchased them off ebay.

Also, _in my opinion_ buying a rep seat is a gamble you don't want to make. I'm not saying they're 100% going to bust and kill you, but if you're ever in an accident the seat is 100% what protects you and saves your life. If it breaks, or if it detaches from the car (even partly) it would be *the end*.

I came [ ] this close to buying rep lowmaxx gias and then I did some soul searching and decided I didn't want "mail order brides" because it wasn't worth the risk.

I don't know enough about 4 point harness to weigh on on that, but either way I guess you just need to weigh your priorities and decide if you want to take the gamble.

The only usable 4-point is the Schroth anti-asm harness. That's it. Considering 1 costs almost as much as what he's asking, walk away OP. Walk away fast.

4 points are significantly more dangerous than stock 3 point harnesses. The only 4 points worth buying is the Schroth, but 5-points and 6-points are safer than the stock 3 point harness.

Agree'd! Just as a heads up Takata does make 4-point ASM belts now as well. I think they are DOT too, but I could be wrong.
