Changing gauge cluster lighting

I have replaced my bulbs with LED's as well. They work fine with the dimmer. In my opinion the stock NB red lighting is not bright enough, which is why I replaced them. The new LED's are still not as bright as I would like but they are better.

^ Yup. Your eyes have a much harder time picking out the bright spots when you're looking at your gauges. The camera makes them easy to pick out.
For those thinking of sanding the green off your stock gauges: don't. The high-powered LED option is much better.

I ended up using the WLED-x5 (194s) in cool white from superbrightleds.com:
They are plenty bright; I have the dimmer set around the 1/2 way point when I'm driving (it was cranked it up to full for the pic). Anything brighter I feel would just be overkill and blinding.
Gauges are custom and were made by Rev.
