I live in South Florida where the last few months have been nothing but torrential downpours and my car is running fine. With the proper vent locations, your coilpacks are not exposed so it does not matter. Think of it this way, when you drive in a flood your engine bay gets soaked and people drive jeeps through rivers with water up to the windows (their intake is snorkeled and their distributor is sealed) but nothing happens to the engine. A little rain water in a hood vent does nothing. Evos come from the factory with a huge hood vent, as do Shelby Mustangs.

I wouldn't want the rain coming through directly over the cam cover where it would pool there and depending on what coils you are running, they could be sitting in standing water too. There are better places on the hood surface that are more effective so leave the umbrella over the engine itself.

I think they would look decent on an NA, but maybe not much else. I'll have pictures up sometime in July after I decide if I will paint them black or paint match them to my car (white).

Yeah, nevermind. My company internet blocks UK websites for some reason. Works fine on my phone. I tried Right Click-> Copy Link Location earlier but the forum software creates a big jumbled mess when you do that on firefox, which is what threw me.

I recently did the gt500 scoop and figured I could post a few pics. I really just did it because I got the scoop cheap from my brother and it gave me piece of mind that the car wouldn't over heat as readily. Probably a waste because I'm not boosted but meh. Also I had seen that folks had issues with the hood being floppy after cutting out all the bracing so I did it a little differently.

I first cut the outer skin of the hood out using a cut off tool. Once i had cut it I pried it off from the hood bracing. Looking at it I felt like I could leave a little of the bracing in and just trim it to fit the scoop. The pictures are pretty self explanatory
