Do NBs have "brittle wiring"?
I was looking into getting a remote start on my 2003 and called a local installer shop that's super highly rated on yelp, basically the polar opposite of hack job best buy installs.
he said that he is not comfortable putting a remote start on my car, citing that the wiring in the NAs and NBs get very brittle with age, and shifting wiring harnesses could cause insulation to crack and the possibility of a dead short/electrical fire.i'm certain this guy knows what he's talking about, but i have never heard of this before now. Is this a common problem? is there a way to mitigate risk by encapsulating some of the harnesses in wire looms or placing dielectric grease around?
