I'll pop in to say the exhaust looks killer. Very nice.

Do you have more pics of the downpipe setup? Looks interesting from what I can see there..

Yeah, that's my brother's SL4. Stock drivetrain but a killer suspension. He hangs with my miata in some twisties!

Word. I did it mostly because of you, or at least I think it was you. Someone replaced their flowmaster with a cheap-o turbo muffler and gained some power. I always heard rumors about the bad flow of flowmasters on turbo 4bangers but that modivated me to get off my *** and start researching what I wanted to do. Plus I'm building an MSM exhaust in a few weeks so I wanted to practice on my car first.

Yeah, the old muffler was a standard 2 chamber flowmaster, circa 2000. This was before the large cases or deltaflows existed.

I am going to keep this setup and dyno it at the miataturbo dyno day in a few weeks. I will attempt to run the same boost for a run (9-10psi) to see what the exhaust has given me. However, I am now making 3-4 more psi with this exhaust than I was with the old exhaust. I was running around 11-12, now I'm hitting boost cut at 15psi. It's detonating a little after shifts, I have to adjust accel fuel i'm sure and probably add fuel everywhere.

Wow - sounds like huge gains already. And I'm sure that new cat makes a big diff on flow. 3" helps huge when your exhaust is cluttered with mufflers and cats. Detonation after shifts- meaning as you enter the next gear and load/torque starts? You're running a link? or something else?

Yes, after load/torque starts, and around 6psi. I'm running the AEM EMS. It should be simple to fix. I'm just lazy.

note to self: you too can have a sweet exhaust like this after buying a welder and taking some lessons.

On second thought, let me know when you start selling these things.

VERY nice. Put me on the list of interested buyers if you ever get around to marketing it.
