Default Suprised by the increase in performance from MAT and AE correction

I turned on AE correction and corrected the MAT table so that my tune remained the same as the temp varied. The difference was astounding. Maybe it was the EA correction, but the car feels soooooo smooth. Teh way the power surges is fantastic.

Moral of story... spend time tuning MAT correction. Every car is going to be different depending on the ambient temp when they tuned, and the pressure when they tuned.

My entire MAT table pulls fuel so far instead of adding. I won't know the 120F point until the spring,.

Just be aware that everyone's MAT correction will be different.

Start logging when the car is cold, allow it to idle until the air temp stops increasing.

Now look at Gair in the log. You want this correction value to remain at 100, but you will probably find that it fluctuates above and below 100. Set your MAT table to offest the value to 100.

If Gair says 97, then at the corresponding Temp set the MAT correction table to +3.

If Gair says 103, then set correction a the corresponding temp to -3.

Take another log like the first and ensure the Gair remains at 100

By doing that arent u completly negating the IAT correction? IE telling it not to add or remove any fuel regardless of the IAT?

There are a few threads on how to "turn off" MAT correction that say to do exactly what you explained. I could just be confused.

Cheers
Scott

EAE will make the car "feel" better because your AFRs remain stable with throttle inputs, so it's smooth as silk babies.

tuning the MAT corrections just helps you keep your AFR stable, instead of fuel being pulled in boost when the temps skyrocket.

I gave this a shot yesterday. My Gair was 103. When I go into the MAT Correction option it allows me to input a % between 0-100? Am I missing another menu option somewhere to do what you're atalking about?

Wait until it gets colder and I'll come over and do it for you. It should be good to go with Dimitris calibration though.

But then I can't work on tuning my idle at all . The car is very driveable as is. I'm just trying to learn more about my ECU and tuning.
