Default Is this Garret HKS kit with HKS Fcon S ECU worth me buying?

I DIDN'T BUY THIS , HOW ABOUT THE ONE BELOW IT>>>This Greddy TD04 kit (see photo) is offered for sale by a local in my area for $800 including the EMANAGE Blue (rev limiter?)

[IMG][/IMG]

This is the new package I am looking at

[IMG][/IMG]

Seller says its a HKS kit and was in his NA6 he says its a Pong Kit with FCon S , I know the HKS Fcon S , I had a HKS Fcon V in my Chaser but what is a POng kit?

Also will it all work in an NA6 and NA8 NB? Asking this since I'm not sure which I will end up buying ...either way my goal is 200-250 hp

Is this good compared to kits by other brands?

Nothing better than a E-manage when it comes to tuning EFI.

is it? I think $500 for all that is more than generous.

let's go over exactly what you're buying:

1. a manifold that cracks.
2. a turbo that spools like **** and has no top end.
3. a stock DP
4. (2) intake pipes. (Stock accordion must be retained)
5. a stock AFM
6. a ugly huge shitty air filter.
7. a retarded oil drain hose.
9. a decent oil feed.
10. a shitty piggyback ECU.

I'd maybe push that to $650 valuing the ECU at $150.

That's generous.

After you buy it, you'll need to replace ALLOFIT except maybe the turbo, and that's assuming it's in very good condition.

So you will need to upgrade the downpipe, the manifold/turbo are okay, the EMB sucks and I would not even try to hook that up to my car.

I'd give him 500

it is different from other kits by other brands, but somewhat similar to some other kits by some other brands.
it fits some cars, made by some manufacturers.
it should definitely make some power, but no more or less power than that
you're welcome

honestly with Olderguy's autotune, it ain't THAT bad of a setup. It's fuss free for sure for a simple bolt on setup.

The above setup a 1-hour-to-boost setup. It just could use an FMU and something like a Bipes.

but what it is not is a good base for a 200-250hp goal. That's a sub-good sub-200rwhp setup.

Thanks for the awesome answers , the sarcasm is in good taste as usual around here...

So what is a more ideal kit ? Japanese made since Im in Okinawa ...
also I have previously owned a Eunos Roadster 1.8 and miss it like hell I own a 1JZ-GTTE Chaser JZX90 and cant wait to go Roadster again!!!

All I want is the experience and knowledge mainly and pretty sure I will mess up since its my first turboing experience so in future I will do it properly and put the money in , as for now I need bang for the buck and a huge improvement in bottom end response , I read that the TD04 is good for that...

Which Jap kit is more ideal and has the least useless parts?
ECU wise I can hunt down any Japanese made used one

Again I need bang for the buck and bottom end improvement only , this wont be my ideal setup but a learning curve...

Manifolds are not interchangeable twx 1.6 and 1.8. The one you are being offered seems to be the stock Greddy 1.6 setup.

^This. That's an NA6 only setup. The only parts that are worth anything are the manifold (assume not cracked + make relief cuts) and turbo. Pretty much what Brain said.

Hi , I changed the original title as I wont be buying the Greddy kit , I found this recently

[IMG][/IMG]

It says its a HKS kit , cant tell what the Garret turbo is , all I can see is A/R 48 stamped on it also looks like a good air intake and I have some experience with a HKS Fcon V before in a Toyota Chaser ...
He wants $1000 or best offer for this... I was gonna offer $900

This is pretty cool on yahoo auctions jp é™å®šï¼‘å°ï¼ãƒ-ードスターNA6C 4スãƒ-ã‚¿ãƒ¼ãƒœç”¨ãƒ‘ãƒ¼ãƒ„ä¸€å¼ - Anniversary,LLC - ヤフオク!

Comparable to GReddy kit , I am in Japan , I can get the Greddy kit used very cheap... I would change rubber parts and clean it up , no shaft play etc , problem is I don't know the turbo...T3?
+ Aren't the HKS Fcon S close to $500 alone?

Why is that a problem when it comes with a manifold?

IIRC they came with an old smaller Garrett T25 something or other.

Hahahaha, i won't even pay $500 for an FCON that i'm going to actually USE.

And i'd never ever ever use one on a Miata.

Depending on what exactly it is, i might pay up to $50 for it, though.
