I'm leaning toward the smaller turbo. I'm thinking about advancing cam timing just a hair, so i can essentially run lower rpm and not hang the motor in the red all day.

Today I ran my regular track backwards, and I was thinking..."I sure would like to put it in 4th at 3800rpm and accelerate out of this corner, rather than 6k rpm in 3rd."

Everyone wants to turn up the boost sooner or later. I personally don't like replacing drivetrain parts though unless i'm upgrading. If you want a 6 spd, then turn up the boost and give yourself an excuse to do so.

I don't see that happening. Considering I'll hit the track with Gary from TDR, I wonder if I'll give in though. How much power can I make on a 2560?

Aside from spinning at a higher rpm, what else will the 2560 suffer from in comparison to the disco potato?

More heat at the same power level, less power at the same boost pressures when compared to the Disco Potato.

i would rethink that 01 sport brake upgrade. i understand brake pad options are limited. i cannot confirm this, tho.

The 2560 is too small. The Disco is where its at.

They are $825 and $1025 through me.

you can buy Hawks at least. HP+ for the street and Blues for the track, you're all set.

Not sure about Carbotech or Porterfield.

the 2560 looks good for like 20psi or so....

very similar to my T3....if you're only looking for 250rwhp on a 1.8 I don't see why you'd really need any bigger.




but the potato will give you lots of headroom if you need it....

The 2554 would get you there, or damn close, but that's it.
The 2560 would get you there, and still have some headroom to grow.

The potato is a cool turbo, but too big for a 240 whp 1.6

its going on a 1.8 with forged pistons.

gain power at the expense of spool...however, it's not at all that slow to spool. But I'm a sucker for a bit more low-end with good top-end.
