How dificult is it to reach 300hp with 1.6?
yeah if you've already got a 1.6 in mind just get it, there is not that big of a difference. updraged rotors/pads will put you on par or above 1.8 brakes and besides, that mazda emblem on the front makes u look like a goober
i have a 1.6L turbo miata, t3/t4 and its a track car and weekend car. i put down 195rwhp@14psi and im running pretty much everything stock(motor) besides the injectors and link ecu. im shooting for 275 at the end of this year... 3" exhaust, new cams (not gears, new camshafts), new valve springs, maybe a MS, id like to do some block work.. bore .020 over with 9:1 in it. i have the capability of boosting over 20psi because of minor head work but choose engine life instead.
What you have to remember is for you...this is a weekend car, and im telling you right now, 200hp in a miata is a f*ckin blast, and in a 1.6 you cant keep the tires from spinning. And @200whp you are going to blow your buddies out of the sh*t can because your at 200whp@ ~2000lbs when they are at 300hp@~3500. Believe me, you wont be able to wipe the smile off of your face, and you will have your buddies wondering what the f*ck you have under the hood because you just blew their V8 mustang out of the water with a 4cyl miata!
