tranny could have done what happened with me, it could have just popped the shift rod thingy out of the shift gates.

If you drop the tranny and take the housing apart, you can see what happens. But I've been told there is a quick fix.

something similar to that happened to me. In my 94'.

 

Originally, I had to replace the 1st transmission as it was locked in 5th gear. I read the article you posted and it was no help as my symptoms were reversed, no pun intended.
Currently, I have all forward gears in this replacement trans. It's as if the gate wont release once in neutral to allow reverse. It's not a big deal as I will replace the transmission anyway. Thanks though.

Just checked my PMs and it looks like you are. I wasn't trying to be a dick (for once). We do haze hard here because it keeps this forum informative and close-knit, unlike the prepubescent clusterfuck that is clubroadster.net. I mentioned my Rx7 diff because I've already blown up the diff you're probably looking at upgrading to (the 7" Torsen) and I don't like to see people get set up for failure (which is why I still don't like your MBC fiddling). You complain about your shitty drivetrain, I share my bulletproof drivetrain in hopes that you'll copy me.

have you checked your slave and master cylinder? if its stuck in a gear the slave may be shot and not engaging the clutch. that happened to me a couple months ago,i thought my trans blew but after getting underneath it i saw that the salve was blown.
