ok well i think my battery went out on me, i want to in n' out and turned off my car for like an hour and came back, my V meter said 13.8, it turned over but the volts dropped to 11.28, then made a clicking from the starter but wouldnt turn over. so i bump started it, drove for a while, stopped for like 15 minutes and it started no problem. i think its the battery but wonderin if maybe someone else had this happen you could give me some input. oh yeah i already checked tension on the alternator belt.

 

could also be the starter solenoid going bad man.

 

Check for dark current draw. Did you add any new electrical accessories lately that might be draining the battery? Using a voltmeter in current mode (milliamp setting) between the negative lead of the battery and a good ground get a reading of the current when the car is off. IIRC, if it's more that ~20milliamps, then you have something in your car that is drawing current with the car off and draining your battery. Then again, check the simple things first like leaving an interior light on.

 

ok well i replaced the battery after i tested it and it turns out i had the original battery since 91. wow. anyays i got the duralast gold (needed quick fix) and it starts runs and im having no prolems. thanks for the advice.
