Inexpensive log manifold interest?

Regarding the castings, another thing to consider is how porous, weak, the material is. Also, how clean is the internal surface? My intake manifold required a bit of careful polishing.

TurboTim did my exhaust manifold for the PS, A/C, and ABS setup for an NA w/ a '99 head. I think he did a beautiful job with the welded piece.
