yeah, I knew that. And agree the "can" is the filler hole- I meant that finding another cam cover with that giant filler hole and the vent port (pcv) right behind it would be good clues.
I think Scott is right on this one. All the bosses/casting going down the intake side on the head and block look the same, coolant port...and so on. So I guess you win that style rear finish panel?

I agree on the Focus motor, it was one of my suspicisions. Now about that shifter. Is it possible they used the Focus tranny?

Modifications: SCT X-Cal2 MarcyMotorsport tune, MarcyMotorsport CAI, Borla 2.5" Flex-Back exhaust, Cosworth cams/intake manifold/throttle body/race header and flex pipe. 87 octane, 4th gear pull.
not a bad little motor....like I said, buy it and refurbish.
