Just slap a shifter boot on and tell your boooooooyes its a civic SI, then they will think its cool.

thats the 2.3 with a ranger transmission it looks like. Probably a good miata motor, but in a ranger that drivetrain was a fricken dog.

if it's a 2.3, there is a chance the turbo setup from the 2.3 turbo Ford engines will bolt on.

Other than displacement they're completely different engines.

Gentlemen,

That is a Duratec motor from either the Ranger or a Focus with a different tranny.

In other words, an 06+ MX5 motor bolts straight in, as does the 300 hp Cosworth version.

Thats a pretty cool setup. I ran across a post where someone is installing a duratec in place of a lima 2.3 in an old mustang svo. Pretty good engine.

But the biggest advantage is the instant removal of nearly 150 lbs directly above the front axle, because that engine is all-aluminum unlike the B6/BP. That would give you a much more favorable weight distribution (closer to 45/55 than the existing 50/50) specially if coupled with a heavier rear diff.

I'd say, if nothing, get the powertrain, wiring, and motor mounts from that vehicle in the yard. And then sell the mounts to me.
