Default Just look at all the latest crap on ebay

They're getting better at guessing what might actually be useful to us (as opposed to 0 offset wheels for example).

Front and Rear Tubular Control Arms:

eBay Motors: 90-05 MAZDA MIATA MX5 TCS FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARMS (item 370183448888 end time May-03-09 21:10:29 PDT)

eBay Motors: 90-97 98-05 MAZDA MIATA MX5 TCS REAR UPPER CONTROL ARMS (item 260387656861 end time May-02-09 18:35:04 PDT)

Semi-real roll bar:

eBay Motors: 1989-2005 Mazda Miata MX-5 MX5 ROLL CAGE BAR ALL YEARS (item 330318880411 end time Apr-30-09 17:56:14 PDT)

Having blown this years budget on wheels, tires, brakes and clutch, I'm actually half-tempted to pick up that rollbar just to stay legal for a trackday or two. I dont know how structurally sound the car is in the part where it mounts though.

Discuss.

Chinese turbos won't kill you if they come apart. A chinese control arm or a chinese rollbar will.

No offense, but if its welded properly and mounts properly like the name brand roll bars what would make this item any inferior? Just doesnt make sense to me, its just a bunch of piping welded together: pretty straightforward. I'll be making my own, so I have no interest in it, just doesnt look that bad at all quality wise.

Except it isn't welded properly, and the material is sub-par, and the design is sub-par.

A respected company, begi, is already starting to use chinachargers. After all this time of everyone dissing them, people are starting to give them a try. Quite a few have had good results so far.

One of us says it's well-made, one of us says it isn't. The difference between us is that I won't die if I'm wrong.

Now you're an expert on building materials too.

BTW, "I won't die if I'm wrong" sounds so melodramatic. That's a win even for you

Ilovetacotaco!

That rollbar looks cheesy to me. Plus it does not bolt down in the same manner as a Hard Dog Hard Core for example so it will not be as strong or stiffen up the chassis as well. Personally, if I did it again, I would still spend the extra money and get something like a Hard Dog or Boss Frog.

I do not like the way those pillowblocks mount to the a-arm. It looks weak with the small screws and the thin metal plate with the full-length slots. Is that typical of reputable designs?
