After seeing these in person at MATG, I am no longer sold on an ND. I really do not like the interior, or the trunk. The rear end is... I dunno, fat.
I am going to have to test drive one to really make up my mind... But it sure makes me love my NB that much more. |

I wasn't gonna comment on the exhaust "gains" but I'm glad you did :giggle:
But really, you gotta cut them some slack: the modifications have to start somewhere. Or would you prefer the aftermarket wait til 20 years from now to finally start making progress on the ND like we had with the na/nb? |
If you're putting an exhaust on most any new sports car just for HP gains, you're doing it wrong.
<br /> <br />Combination of sound, looks, weight, and a bit of power is plenty for most people. I'll be putting an exhaust on the s2k simply because the stock one is too quiet. I expect many will do the same with the ND. |

I'm curious how they'll respond to boost on 93 with that high compression engine; I believe it's 13:1. I can't wait to see the first turbo setup. Has there been any speculation as to a prototype FM kit?

KW's Dyno Dynamics was a bit stingy. That's what has my attention. This thing might actually be making 142whp on a Dynojet. If so, it explains that 5.8s 0-60mph on stock tires. We're just around the corner from getting ours. We already have a pile of parts to test on it.

I believe the general rule for dyno dynamics, mustang, etc. is to multiply the result by 1.1. In that case, that car is making more to the wheels with an exhaust than Mazda claims it makes at the crank.

There is no general rule anymore. I laugh when people say "heartbreaker mustang", like they all read low accross the board.
If that one does, for sure, then those numbers are quite nice. |

I've been meaning to do a back to back with my car on the Dynojet I use and this one. However, in my experience Dyno Dynamics typically report on the low end compared to Dynojets. Confirmed with Brian we are going to put it on the local dynojet as well. Brian also provided some more overlays comparing the NC with a header to the ND (he has years of NC data on this dyno).

And we also see that if we go catless on the NC with our RoadsterSport Max Power header then that is quite a bit more powerful than ND with stock exhaust system. I suspect with that comp ratio + E85 + ignition/cam tuning, there should be some nice gains to be seen. |
