What about using ABS? I can sheets of it pretty cheap around here.

OK now that I've tried to fit it on the car I found a few problems.

a) If you have AC you might have one of the standoffs rub against the metal AC line. Not only does it prevents you from install the shroud buy could also lead to it eating away the line. I just simply cut off that standoff

b) Other problem was I made the shroud exactly the width of the rad. When you try to slip the rad back into place, there's a ridge that tapers inwards that will block the shroud. What you need to do is cut the shroud about 1" short of the width.

trito, sounds like you know something i dont...please help a brother out, lol
i have a sheet of lexan that i want to use for a shroud, but im not sure it can take the heat...should i just go fot it? you say you chose AL because of sheet thickness, any other reason, i would really like to use lexan and if you know for a fact that it would work then im good to go

Well lexan "should" work since the guy who made the 2/3rd's Cobra Shroud used it. http://fatcatmotorsports.com/fanshroud.htm I'm not sure how thick it is but if you ask Sheihk from Fat Cat Motorsports, I'm sure he wouldn't mind telling you.
