P0246 Wastegate Solenoid High Voltage

Hey all - We have an MSM, stock, driven for autocross only.
About a month and a half ago the CEL came on: P0246 - Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid 1 High Voltage

The car runs fine, and seems to boost fine as well from what I can tell - though I suppose it may just be on spring pressure now?
Is this a common issue, and is it likely actually a bad solenoid?

literally first modification to my MSM: throw the stock ecu into the trash

I bought mine with the stock ecu already in the trash.

soooo that means no one knows. I guess ill buy another solenoid and hope

No point in hoping, test it and find out. Check the harness for 12v, the negative will
come from the ecu. Then give the solenoid 12v and a ground from a battery, and see
if flow starts/stops
