Yes, the clubricer.net crowd might be "destroying" our beloved little cars with cheap parts that can easily be replaced with quality parts. However, the SpecMiata crowd is literally destroying our beloved little cars beyond repair one, or more, at a time.

who's to say which is worse?

I bet Spec Miata is responsible for almost 100 cars destroyed a year out of the million made. That's sad.

On the flip side, there's an easy 600 new members joining on CR a year with disgusting swagged out shitmobiles.

I would rather see 10 Miatas destroyed on the track than see a single Miata condemned to spend its life dodge potholes and rubbing stretched tires on its fenders.

A Spec Miatas dies a noble death, like a Viking warrior. A hellaflush Miata is tortured until it eventually dies in a puddle of its own waste with sharpie dicks drawn on its face.

Look through the meet and greet section. It's nauseating.

Also: Only the crustiest Miata.net members use the Spec Miata argument.

Meeners, I think the disconnect is in the different purposes we use our cars for. If every member of Clubroadster set their Miata on fire, there would surely be some businesses that would suffer.

But here's the thing: I don't really care about those businesses. I don't need a tape-on hardtop wing, or a CF trunk lid, or a 3-foot tall shift ****. I want parts that make my car go faster, and as long as Miatas are still raced, there will still be parts to make them go faster.

I need a CF trunk lid, actually. Don't need a 3 foot tall shift ****, but you can bet your *** i'm going to have a long extension on my short shifter because swag and ****. (Or ergonomics preferences.)

Rofl, I'll see if my old roommate wants to get rid of his. It's got a Fast 'n Furious wing on it though.

Yessssssssssssssss.... The car is going to have a huge wing of some sort on it eventually anyways. I actually have no trunk lid at all right now. Was considering just making some custom cover and mounting wing inside the trunk because wace kor and ****.

I nominate that quote for inclusion in "Best Of MT".

I don't see a disconnect, just different displays of passion. At the end of the day it's all expendable funds being wasted... I/you/they can 'modify' my/your/their car(s) however they want. They're just doing it to keep themselves happy. So are you. So do I. It's a matter of taste, which doesn't matter IMO.

That said, your generalization is more entertaining than my generalization and not far from truth. It made me giggle. Ultimately, I have to co-sign what you said because it's funny.

Blah blah blah keep talking you beautiful monster you.

Whats sad is I listed my 164k mile 93 with 1.8 for that price here in and noone bought it, I decided to keep it and decided its getting an engine swap of some sort.

I've been looking for a katback exhoust for some time.

Alas, if it hasn't sold, the price has increased to $2000.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess this guy is not a professional of any sort..

He may at this very moment be manning one of those shitty kiosks in the mall selling rhinestone-encrusted iphone covers.. but then again I believe that would take a level of autonomy the likes of which the seller cannot be trusted...

Trick of the shitty cellphone camera, or is the front end resting on the bumpstops?
