Question randomly SHUTS OFF

i have a 91 fm2 turbo miata. The car runs great but some times my car just shuts off while i am driving. my radio and lights and fan are still On but my rpm goes to zero and my car dies. Some times i can restart it and some times i wont start unless i sit there for a min or 2 and try again. i already replaced my ignition switch thinking that would fix it but its still doing it.. has anyone in here had that problem? I hear a sound coming from under the dash like if its a switch or relay clicking when ever it shuts off. i tried to listen to where it comes from but its hard while driving to stick my head under the dash. please help me fix this .. thanks

Do you have an alarm system?

How are your grounds?

NO to both questions i dont have an alarm and i dont have afm. it seems like my fuel pump just goes off and the car dies or my ignition shuts off and the car dies.. but i hear something clicking under my dash.. so i was thinking is ther a relay down there that would go bad and some times switch off??

something should click under your dash when your car stalls

check CAS and igniter? relay is probably the FP turning off. You can jump it, but I'd assume the problem is elsewhere if the tach dies. What ECU is in the car? stock?
