If it's convenient, go ahead, I'd be interested to hear the results, but if it's a hassle don't worry about it. I've already seen that generally roll bars do NOT encroach on the cabin nearly so far as mine does.
The question now is what to do about it.

Great pics, thanks for taking them. Really shows that 4" makes a dramatic difference (that's what she said).
This does suck though. I had just gotten our other car issues sorted out and was getting ready to focus on moving forward with the turbo build. I'd rather not be deciding how to change my rollbar setup.

That's the most straightforward solution. It just seems like a big hassle, for two reasons specifically:
1. I've already trimmed the carpet and side panels for this bar. Now, the side panels and rear deck carpet isn't that big of a deal...side panels are out of sight and the rear deck carpet can be replaced easily if it needs to be trimmed very differently. But I also trimmed the footwell carpet on both sides for the integrated door bars. Hate the idea of having big gaps in the footwell carpet. I know replacing it isn't the end of the world but it's another hassle.
2. It's unlikely that a new rollbar will mount up exactly like this one. If I'm fortunate, the new mounting holes will not line up with the old ones at all, and still have plenty of metal around them. If I'm not fortunate, the holes will be very near each other or even overlapping, at which point I'll be trusting the backing plate or mounting plate not to punch through a piece of sheetmetal with 8 holes in it.
I know I'm overthinking it somewhat and **** this post sounds whiny when I re-read it, but that's honestly how I feel right now.
