This is dedicated to the red 90 that im putting back togethor after it being off the road for 2 years.

1. I first started by removing the old engine

2. Then after that i decided to trim the sheet metal near the steering column

3. Welded it for strength

4. Painted it ( dont have a pic of it sorray )

5. labled the wiring harness ( no pic )

6. Drop new engine in

7. Get the motor mounts in and installed

8. Got the hood/headlightes installed still need to find some front bumper brackets that support the reinforcement

Up next is new torsen unit install

More room for a downpipe when i build a custom one for the t25

Today i hooked up all the intake manifold goodies and IAC lines. Also got in the coil, new spark plugs/wires

Things left do to;

Rear end
Clutch lines
starter wires
speedo cable
radiator

I need a front thermostat pigtail cause the wire on the harness just pulled out of the plug

Mine did the same thing when I was doing my build. I just took it apart and fixed it, pretty simple to do.

Just got done cleaning the exhaust ports with a stone cone shaped dremel. I was pretty conservative with shaving. Im going to go back in there with some sandpaper heads and polish them up a bit. I thought about porting but decided to hold off on that till i take the head off on my next exhaust port cleaning.

After dinner i decided to jump in with the turbo rebuild. I was thinking about having gpopshop rebuilt it but they want 350$!!! Needless to say i had the kit and decided to roll with it

1. I had some trouble getting that freakin plate off took me 10 minuets no joke.

2. Got it all dissasembled finally

3. My guide (thanks SamNavy/Brain )

4. Soaked it with mineral spirits for about 40 minuets.

Not shown i took my dremel and went to town. Looks like a brand new turbo with new guts to back it up

5. Almost done but its gettin late figured id post this and finish it another day

6. My Lovely Torsen unit freshly sanded and repainted !!! its goin in this weekend for sure

I havent made an update for a while been busy buying a new toy ( airsoft )

Anyway i got the torsen unit in

Woke up to see .....

Built a little fire .... to keep my hands warm

My brother got carried away with the air compressor nozzle

I made him torque the bolts to the torsen for punishment

Side note. I found my digital camera! no more shitty quality pictures ( after this post )

Im reviving this thread because yesterday i pulled the car into the garage. First off i want to paint the car. All the work ive done thus far is going to be removed to paint it properly. That means hood fenders bumpers and such are going to be removed. As well as all the interior.

Few questions.

1. Do i need to remove the wiring harness to paint the engine bay?

2. If i remove everything how hard is it to put back together?

3. What color to paint it? I was thinking of sunburst yellow but my brother thinks its a lame color. Any ideas?

Yellow is lame, especially with all the rain we get. I'd say dark grey, black, red, or smurf blue.
