Default Shift ****

Hey how do I take off the stock shift **** on my 90 miata? If it's just a twist off then I'm gonna need popeyes phone number cuz my forearms just can't do it...

Maybe try a strap wrench or something. That should give you better leverage without destroying the ****.

I actually like how the stock **** feels in my hand when shifting. Doesn't freeze your hand or burn your hand like a metal voodoo ball does either.

May not be the best looking thing, but it does work, and well.

Some have grub screws on them that need to be loosened.

Don't grab the **** with vicegrips, grab the shaft! Just remove the upper shift boot and slide the vicegrips in underneath it. The lower part of the shaft is about 3/4" diameter... pretty thick. That, plus less sand in your vagina will work.

put the end of the shifter in a vice on the bench, and turn the shift ****, it will take a while but it will come loose after
