Default SS exhaust bends

I'm getting ready to place an order to columbia river mandrel bending (site sponsor) for my tbolt clamps, silicon couplers, and SS exhaust stuff.

My exhaust shop can't get the SS tube, but said he'd do the bends and weld everything up for 120-150 bucks. He is limited to 60 degree bends.

Can someone tell me if I can get away with my 3'' exhaust angles of 60 degrees or less?

Around the diff might be tight, also depends on what muffler you are using. That price is so low, though, that you might want to just pick up two tight radius 3" U-bends while you are making your order. That way he can use them if he needs them. It would prevent a work stoppage while in process. Would be $60-70 well spent.

I'll buy one or both from you when you are done if you have any left over for your purchase price so little risk. I'll need them eventually. You pay freight and you have a guaranteed buyer.

Good call, I may take you up on that. How much straight tubing do you think it will take. I haven't measured yet.

Don't know for sure. Measure and know. I'm leaning towards going two 2 1/2" into one 3" near the tail of the tranny so mine will be different.

CR has a b-stock list going right now and SS bends are 30% off list price. They have minor imperfections because these are the bends they use to set up their machines. I have several 180* bstock bends right now and they are so close to perfect you can barely see whats wrong with them.

Your welder is limited to 60° bend? I thought CR had 90° and 180° SS bends SS bends.

Muffler man can order you a pre-made mandrel bent 3" tail pipe section like for a truck(he should have a catalog) usually cheaper than U-bends,then cut and weld it-as you would with U-bends..

piping amount depends on the routing... if you do a right side exit with diagonal rear section (no muffler) i think i have 8-9 feet in my custom 3" exhaust including a 3" 180 with the legs.

if you want to put a muffler in it, it SHOULD be similar, but with a muffler in the middle, but i cant help any more than that.

Thanks, i'm going to measure to get an estimate. It comes in 4' lengths. I have 6 in my shopping cart, but that seems like overkill. Four or five sounds like it should suffice. Especially with a couple 180 bends too.

Anyone know where to source cheap SS 3 bolt exhaust flanges? It was only a couple dollars more to do a vband setup connecting the DP and exhaust. I guess it has "cool" factor.

That aluminized steel really looks good. I might take these pictures to the exhaust guy to give him a better idea about what to do. I gues the 24' of SS pipe I was going to buy was a little overkill.

Does anyone have a picture with the muffler closer to the DP, ie before the rear diff. I'd like to get away with 1 muffler but it looks like there isn't enough room under the car for a muffler.

I'm planning on adding flanges to both sides of the muffler, and having my fm cat modified to fit in the location that I want the muffler. That way everything is legal on his end. Then when i get home I pull the cat out and put on the muffler

I painted it with a flat silver once we welded, kinda over kill, but you have to do something to cover the welds and keep them from rusting. You have to grind the aluminizing off the joints to get a clean weld. Use a resonator to do what you were talking about to replace the cat.

What do you guys think about this? It's got some nice bends in it, I can't find an estimated length. Order it on amazon.com and get free shipping.
