Look into doing a foamectomy on the stock seats before you spend money on aftermarket ones.

Delete the visors helped me a lot with visibility especially under traffic lights

Yeah, that was one of the first things I did with my car.

OP:
A Kirkey seat bolted to the floor with a back brace will do it. You can get a 15" seat centered with out too much hammering on the tunnel. Large than that you will need to do serious hammering, cut the tunnel, or mount the seat higher.

I have a Marad seat from Goodwin. It's comfortable enough for DD, but not long trips. It gets low, about 1/2 in off the floor with out the cushion. It is not a full race seat, like a Kirkey. It bolts in, no tunnel cutting.

I have taken my Marrad seat on multiple 8+ hour trips and I find it plenty comfortable? Much more so than the stock leather seats that I had before.

I am 6'2, 34" inseam. I first foamectomied the hell out of my stock seat. That got me barely low enough for track days, but the lower back wasn't too comfortable. The seat's ok, but not for anything over an hour or so.

I have since moved on to the Marrad seat as well. I highly recommend it for people in the 6'2 area. With all of the cushions in, it is very comfortable - on multi-hour trips you just forget about it, which is the point. With the cushions out for track days, I am about as low as you can get, and I still find it very comfortable.

A note on restraints - with the cushions in on the road, I use the stock 3pt belt. For track days, with the cushions out, I use a Schroth 6pt harness. Using the stock 3pt belt without the cushions in the seat is not safe. In the event you need the restraints, the lap belt will be too high (riding your abdomen instead of your pelvis), and soft tissue damage is very possible.

I really like this seat and recommend it. It's been in my car for 15 months now. I had planned to remove it last winter, but never got around to it. No reason to since it's so comfortable.

I've got a Sparco Sprint V in my Miata with the rear seat humps removed.
Since I didn't want to pay to have something fabbed up, I modified one of the PCI seat mounts.

Works well, though I paid through the nose for a 1/4" steel rectangular plate for under the rear.

Then again, without a garage or access to a shop, I didn't have many choices.

So I'll chime in since the Seat Drop link is to my car.

The #1 mod I've made to the car is the seat drop. Better than the 6ULs, FatCat suspension, Turbo and the MegaSquirt. It no longer feels like I'm wearing the car. Now I actually feel like I'm driving.

Mobius, I'm 5'10" and 30" inseam, so we have a similar torso length. Have you tried the regular Lotus seats? Everyone raves about the Marrad, but at $1000/seat, the Lotus seats look more attractive at $1000/pair.

For those with the marrad seat- have you had trouble fitting harnesses? My dad bought one of these for his NB went to HMS in MA to get it installed- They couldn't get they couldn't get the shoulder straps to fit him without rubbing his neck. Aparently the openings in the seat back were too close together. Looking at pictures of the marrad it seems kinda bullshit but HMS does a lot of harness installs.

16 inch Kirkey bolted to the floor, no hammering required for fit (17 would probably fit fine, frankly, so I don't agree with above about the hammering). I'm 6'1" with 34 inseam. Kirkeys don't look comfy but will surprise you. I've spent multiple 10 hour days in them for my outside sales job. You can even put a little piece of foam padding between the seatback foam and the seatback for adjustable lumbar support.

Have not tried lotus seats.

I had/have no issues with my Scroth Enduro harness. It's Hans compatible, so the shoulder straps go from 3" to 2". No neck rubbing issues. I did put Willans pads on the shoulder straps for maximum comforts.
