Once you have it, hook up a Fuel pressure gauge and see if the pressure rises enough to provide a healthy mixture... (maybe the car already has one)
You need : 45 + 42= 82 psi off fuel pressure > 45 @ 0psi + 6psi off fuelpressure per psi off turbo pressure.
If you swap the signal wires to the coils you can route spark wires much nicer...
When done the left coil will provide spark for 1 and 4 and the right for 2-3...
From left to right : cyl 4 -cyl 1 -cyl 2 - cyl 3 (keep nr 1-2-3 on top off nr 4)
looks like an hks manifold with a gt28r.
good for an easy 180 hp (7psi), with ecu and injectors 250 hp is possible... Drive carefully,get to know the car!

Just remove the coils 3x 12mm (maybe 2x as the bottom one usually gets lost............a b#tch to get loose, and you don't need it)
On the bottom off each coil there is a plastic cap that covers the coil connection. Open/remove it.
You will see 3 wires on each coil... 2 are the same color on both coils (power and gnd) the other one is the signal.
And while your at it, the 1.8 has light brown injectors, the 1.6 has blue.
You need the light brown.

Picked her up, she made the 11 hour drive back from Windsor, ON to Eastern PA...but not without drama.
Previous owner must have been slightly retarded, and I must have been as well. I naively assumed that he would be like me, and knowing I was about to drive halfway across the country would have everything topped off, well, no. Had to find an auto parts store and did a parking lot clutch bleed, coolant top off (flushed and filled once I got home), etc, etc.
So far, so good.

All in all, after having it a week now I'm happy.
There are a bunch of stupid little things I am taking care of that I wish would have been disclosed (cracked cluster plastic/cover, cracked cluster hood, broken glovebox door, f-ed up seatbelt, etc, etc). But that's all minor **** and most of it has been either ordered or already replaced.
Got a swamp of nasty **** out of the body drains, and now have leaking taillight gaskets.
Car drives well though (some of the harshness I am sure is due to the 17's), has good power and seems to be good to go.
Only thing, is waiting for the state to get my paperwork done so I can have my title and register the car (might have up to 4 weeks :() As of now, I have only taken her out a few times and just dodged to red and blues...she's parked for right now though.
Waiting on an axle seal, then its time to change all the fluids and get going on mods!!

Congrats on the purchase btw.
I have a set of OEM Mazdaspeed wheels on my miata and the *ONLY* people that don't like them reside on here. Minimum five positive comments a day about my wheels, plus I like em. Like I've said a million times, Mazda thought it was prudent to put 17s on a miata.. The 04/05 MSM, and now its standard equipment for the NC to have 17" wheels.. I don't give a **** what they weigh either. See the black wheels in my signature? They weigh 11 pounds a piece, 22.8 with tires.. Autox is the only time I'll give a **** about wheel weight, and I've got that covered.
My Protege is a 2000. 1999 - 2000 models IRC had 4 lug, then in 2001 they switched to Five lug.. but don't quote me 100% on that. I wanted a set of MSP wheels for it and had a set lined up cheap, until I found they're five lug. Ohwell.

Somone on a local forum has a good example of a Miata with bigger wheels that looks good -
Your car with the MSM wheels looks much better than mine with the current wheels. Mazdasped wheels might never be light (as in the MSP), but they sure look good!
