What does it take to install a torsen?
I have a 1996 miata with a slushbox. If I wanted to put a torsen in, what would it take? Can I just pull the diff and put in the torsen or do I have to bother with axles and crap too?
The easiest car I've worked on was the GF's old Neon. When the water pump failed unexpectedly while driving on the interstate, causing the engine to loose time, I opened the head and repaired ("straightened") the valves with a prybar and hammer. The parts store even allowed an exhange of the failed waterpump for another (the pump was a few months old at the time). $0 out of pocket
Car drove "OK" afterwards, not quite as peppy, and burned a qt of oil every 1500 miles, which was about 2x its previous rate of consumption. But it ran and got through emissions just fine. :gay:
