associate miatas with girls...

so I was online minding my own business and one of the kids that graduated with me from highschool was asking me why I drive a girl car... and I kept telling him, it's not necessarly that I like the car, but I like the way it handles and performs all around. So he says " i just couldn't see myself driving a girls car."
At this point I was getting into how it feels good to be able to beat cars with engines that are 3 times the size as my own. and he's like whatever they wont beat my bike...

so at this point i was just fed up with listeing to this guy that didn't have a clue what he was talking about go on to tell me how only girls should drive miatas and how they're cheap,slow, ugly, and all around a joke...

i hate people like this.

I grew up thinking Miatas were "girl cars." They came out when I was 9 and my sister wanted one and so it just made sense. Plus, they're small and cute. Girls like small cute cars. And when one girl likes something and tells everyone then every other girl will like it too. When they switched to the '97 Miata they became a pretentious Road & Track 50-year-old man car for some reason. I've been getting the "Miatas are for gay guys," and "I hope you never drive that thing without your girlfriend with you." I can't really argue because I know a gay guy with the same exact car as me. Whatever. They're good cars.

You'll always have people writing off cars because of their steretypical drivers. Could be worse, we could have Civics which are associated with all kinds of retards.

My other car is a 2000 Celica GT Auto, so I guess I have two girl cars. Like I care. I got a Miata because I thought it'd be fun. Which it is. If I wanted a car to stroke my ego with I'd have gotten something I thought other people would like. But other people can go **** themselves.

 

Its never too late to lease an m3 or 350z / g35.

Just tell him you'll race his bike. Then swerve into him and kill him. Simple enough.

 

Why is that once anyone realizes your car may be faster than theirs they say, "yeah, well I'll just race you on my bike," for that nice apples to oranges comparison. I think at that point you should just fight them. Like physically. And then when they are laying on the ground bleeding you yell, "NOW WHO'S CAR IS FASTER???"

 

I've also been told, "so it's a FAST chick car".

Like I care what people think.

I just tell people like that that I am gay and thats why I drive a miata. It gets them away from me quickly, which is what I want.

haha, acutally the lst time someone said anything about my car is when I beat an STi on the street and he yelled, "holly ****, that's the coolest miata ever!"


the guy who picked up my diff reconigzed the car.....he mentioned a friend in an EVO who said he was pissed when some miata was all over his ***, then he mentioned that once he let him by he couldn't keep up and thought the car was badass.........(see my EVO video on youtube, it was me )

 

The Miata *IS* a chick car. At least down here in southern California it is. I'd estimate that 80% of all Miatae I see on the road are being driven by a white female in the 25-50 age range. And what's worse is that the usually have the top up, even if it's sunny and 75 degrees.

In this regard, the Miata is pretty much exactly the same as the Z3/Z4, the Boxster, and the SLK280. They're all reasonably priced (for their market segment) adorable little cars.

I've learned to live with it.

 

The bottom line is this:

When a guy says a miata is a girls car 99.5% chance they dont know dick about cars. Every actual car person knows that a miata is far from a girls car.

 

I get compliments all the time in my car. I hear that thing is mean. Also I hear thats the badest miata I've ever seen. And thats coming from the south.
