Put Nordlocks on your car, track it hard, and come talk to me. They won't stay on. Nothing stays on except Stage 8s (which I can't fit), safety wire (which I haven't tried), and hopefully this.

 

+1 on Safety Wire....cheap, easy, simple, plus it's fun!!!

 

actually, its not easy with a gt2860rs. You need a 1' long drill bit to do one nut/stud.


I'm super worried about this too. I'm doing a track day here in Austin, and if the come loose, I'm taking it back to begi and telling them to figure it out.

wait, wait, wait. I think you may have the wrong idea about how to safety wire. You should have no need to go through the stud? You go from nut to nut (haha). Check this tutorial out.

I may have been lying when I said safety wire was fun, but it's definitely cheap and easy. Harbor Freight should have a bad set of safety wire pliers for about $8 or so, they are not great and will fail to lock after about 50-100 uses, but they should work well if all you ever do is safety wire the nuts on the manifold / turbo.

 

And then the studs back out through the nuts. This isn't new, folks. It's all been discussed before. You can't wire just the nuts.

 

Ok, well, not to beat a dead horse, and I guess it makes Hustler's comment make sense to me now, why don't you just safety wire the studs together as well? Although my car is still NA I sure think some of the applications I have safety wired before would be more difficult applications that this.

 

i can't find safety wire pliars anywhere locally, not even harbor freight. You should order them.
