Yea we've got the 90-93 housings done already. We have to do another circuit board to fit those, but that won't take anytime once we get the full release version of this 94-up circuit. We did recieve a new housing on the 94-up and that is being tested now for strength. Once thats over we'll get both versions out there.

Now that I'm salivating for one of these setups. Any chance that you are also going to fab a hold down bracket, or is it not needed with your setup

There is none needed. it fits perfectly in the sparkplug hole just like an OEM sparkplug. So its held in by the sparkplug hole, and a really solid attachment on the end of the sparkplug.

I will be using an AEM ECU on my car once I have it back on the road. I want to go to a COP setup, but my problem is this...... I am at a fork in the road as to whether I should leave the 1.6 in the car or go ahead and install the 1.8 I have waiting. That is in debate b/c of the cost to swap in the 1.8 at this juncture when my 1.6 is still strong. I know I will be going to a 1.8 eventually.

So the question is, do I buy the COP kit for the 1.6 when available, then buy the individual 1.8 peices when to swap over later?

Well it depends on if you replace the harness or not. If you replace the harness then yes, you definitely will have to splice some things to make it work because we make it all plug and play. If you don't replace the ignition harness you wan't have to change anything. So it really just depends on what your doing.

Travis, hate to be a nag but I'm working on a 3071 and 750's to upgrade my 94 FMII/Link built engine, etc. and really want this COP solution to be a part of this process. Any idea on a timeframe? Will it play well with the full Link standalone?

Doing great, I've beat this system to death for a few days now on the new setup. Idle is better, tip in is stronger, and guess what? No plug wires, and its actually a good weight reduction over the standard kit. All win situation. I did send the board back for a final analysis to see if any components were getting beat on. We might make a few component changes but I'm thinking preorders will be available by Friday or next Tuesday depending on when he gets all of the component analysis done.

The final thing we're doing is sending it off to this other engineer I know for a sign off. He has all the credentials Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, Professional engineering liscense, worked for NASA, lots of research. We got it to the 99% mark but he's going to do the life analysis and see if there are any other changes that need to be made. The units are going to be designed for a minimum of 5 years of life under daily driven conditions. That will be his job to get it to the 5 year mark. Some will last longer but thats what we're shooting for. When I hear back from him on what he thinks we need to do I'll know when we can take orders. I expect things to be beefed up, but no more board / enclosure changes.

travis, have you fit this on an 01+ yet? the valve cover holes are smaller than the earlier cars and there's a lot of metal from the 01 coils that interfere with the Toyota COPs. May be worth a specific test fit.
