True... My only problem is that I work all the damn time and when I don't I'm either hiking or drinking beer. Haha Maybe a jet-ski would change this... Hmmmm.

my fav part about the jet skis, i come home from work, drag the trailer to the truck by hand, and go. At the launch ramp, I spray some starting fluid into the air filter, start it up, and unstrap. If there aren't a lot of boats going in/out (weekday) i simply drag the ski up out of the water a lil bit and leave it on the launch ramp as I park. The launch ramp is 10 minutes from home - total time from arriving home from work until starting the ski in the water is 15-20 minutes. There's just so much **** you don't have to deal with compared to a 'boat', and since it can be a very physically demanding activity, you aren't out for hours upon hours at a time. I get exhausted, trailer the ski, swing by the gas station to fill it back up, make it home, and roll the trailer back to it's parking spot, all in time for dinner.

Yeah... I live an hour or so from an body of water that will allow a jetski on it (HP restrictions FTL).

The river / lake in town doesn't have power restrictions, simply a no PWC rule, you're good with your 300hp bass boat though.

I have a 45min - 1hr drive down to Lake Erie to get to use mine, bleh.

I would have to agree. Boats can be a pain in the *** sometimes.

I can not believe how much gas a ski can drink. I mean come on. Mine holds 12-13 gallons, and on a day where there are multiple riders and we are out all day, I have to fill it 3 times. Ouch!

Around here we get up early and run offshore when the waves have a nice low roll, then head in for the intercoastal shallows where there is less chop. Offshore riding in big waves in the afternoon is fun, but it will beat you down in a hurry. I think the most fun riding is in small rivers. It is like being on a twisty mountain road with no speed limit. I never get tired of it.

I've been looking for a jet ski, just haven't had the right one come along. They seem really expensive here. A few around $1500 but they're all 15+ years old and seem to have problems, can't find much of anything in decent condition under $2000. Maybe it's just the wrong time of year to be looking.

I think my jet skis hold 5 gallons each. On an average trip, they'll run through about half a tank - I think twice my body has been able to outlast the fuel tank. With the little light jet skis, you actually have to put physical effort into going full throttle - it'll wear the **** out of you to run 2 miles all out on anything but a glass surface. The big wave runners will have you running at full throttle all day long.
