My friend is seriously thinking about getting a 323 gtx, which has a lovely little B6T engine like 1.6 miata's B6ZE. I know there are differences like the timing (mechanical advance distributor), 7.9:1 compression, and the most obvious one, the turbo, but all in all they are pretty similar correct?
I really don't know that much about the workings of ecu's and megasquirt, and will myself probably get the 1.8 mspnp because I don't like doing hours upon hours of wiring. But does anyone know how hard it would be to make a MS that would work with the 323 gtx, or to adapt a miata ms? I would guess that it would have to be custom made (braineack?) and mostly custom wired unless there is some kind of miracle and they share a harness. Is this idea even close to reasonable? Or would it just be a huge pain in the *** and more like making a MS from scratch?

I think it should be relatively straightforward. He can even leave his distributor on initially and tune the MS for fuel-only. Then once comfortable he can get it working in spark mode also. All he really needs is a reliable set of wiring diagrams and a bit of common sense.
