Thank you...now I get it.

I was thinking physics, not politics.

Should have known.

Am I the only one pissed beyond belief about yesterday's little speech?

I mean really, "I'm gonna take what's left over from this LOAN and SPEND it where I want to..."

too bad it's written in the bill that it must go back into the Treasury.

But I understand: got money, spend money. I'm surprised his limos don't have dubs yet.

I still freaking love how after rushing a bill through Congress, and after the course of a year it's effects are nill to none, he realizes that NOW he needs to spend the dough on something else. I'm sorry, I though the economy was "fixed" already.

Here's an idea, give me back my C.A.R.S. contribution and my Recovery Bill contribution and I'll go out and renovate my bathroom. But so long as this economy is in the mess it is, almost all my cash goes into a savings account that makes like .0000001% interest (Used to be closer to 6%). I'm more froogle than google; I have a food & gas budget each week and we pay our bills, everything is saved no exceptions, if my taxes go up you think I'll be happier to spend my cash?

Isn't overzealous spending what got us in this mess in the first place? I'm glad Mr. BigSpenderMoneyBags is setting a great example for the rest of us.

Hopefully this bill fails. There has to be a way to kill off all the poor, working class before it gets too expensive and we have to pay their retirement plans. There has to be some way we can systematically exterminate them prior to 72-years of age. hmmmmmm

We've managed to become the biggest super power and most advanced country the world has ever seen in just the last 222 years. Social 'Justice' and a Robin Hood mentality is not the key to continuing advancements.

Just live within your means, it's not the govt's role to provide or support you, and they certainly cannot handle making these sort of big kid decisions for you. Seriously, why do you guys have so much faith in Gov't, what tract record does our gov't have that makes you all feel so warm and fuzzy about it?

50 years ago the average income for someone in Hong Kong was $700 (2009 inflated value). Since the British gov't at the time simply focused on keeping citizens safe and enforcing laws, by leaving businesses, taxes and everyone to simply do their own thing, the average income today is now over $50,000. Heck, you can also argue that now under Anarchy the Somalians are better off then they ever were.

This speaks to me Brain.

I've never been able to justify or explain it...but I'm convinced that the average Joe conducts himself in the manner he sees the government conducting business.

The egg may have come before the chicken...but it seems that when we didn't have a huge national debt most people weren't comfortable with large personal debt either.

We are digging ourselves DEEPER into a hole when we should be learning a lesson and changing our ways.

I hear you on saving...Miata is the only thing I splurge on...and it has it's own self-sufficient budget. We use coupons religiously, have read Dave Ramsey, have our cars paid for, and maintain zero debt outside of the house note and small student loans that cover 50% of tuiton. We handle the other half and books.

I WISH our federal government was half as responsible as we were. They owe that to us.

Considering the national economy **** its pants and unemployment is at 10% or whatever, King Governor Bush managed to bail out Paulison's old company Sach's after letting their competion (Lehman) fail, and all this **** was created by banks stupid enough to rape people dumb enough to take VAPR loans...I think its time we shifted our focus from screwing people over to treating people without health-care insurance private club memberships like humans, and stop using welfare and immigration as a vote-securing political tool.

I agree, I drive Miatas. However I refuse to believe that dropping $230 per month to be a member of a private health-care club, that lets me select doctors from a club list, who then charges me additional fees to use the club membership, is a parallel to strong arming the middle class into VAPR home-loans.

I never said we didn't need health-care reformz... however, when I get my bills in the mail and I see how much my health care provider pays and what little I have to. I don't complaim, bigger things to worry about in my camp.

While Bush may be an idiot, he also didn't try terrorists captured on foreign soil in open US court giving them protection under our laws, Iran and Korea were didn't have the ***** to play these games with us, and he certainly wouldn't tell our army general to eliminate the enemy, then forget the gave that order three months later.

The economy would have crashed regardless of who was in control, democrats blocked any sort of investigation/reform of fannie mae and freddy mac which pretty much started the downfall. Obama is in bed with just as many organizations as Bush was: So Lehman Bros. is to Bush as Goldman Sauchs is to Obama.

And before you post a graph of how much surplus Clinton was able to bring in, also remember who was in control of Congress during his last two years when things were going good, he was signing all the policies that the Gingrich house was passing and it worked out well.

transparency isn't about publically discussing legislation formation, it's about showing you what comes out of that discussion before it's passed into law and letting you talk your representative into or out of it.
